Overview

Test of English as a foreign language or commonly known as TOEFL is a standardized exam that aims to measure the level of the English language mainly for non-English speakers who intend to study at an English-speaking educational establishment. The TOEFL exam is widely accepted in over than 190 countries all over the world and over 11,000 educational establishments around the world. TOEFL is also being used as a measurement of the English language proficiency in job interviews and visa applications.

Updates on TOEFL

As of July 2023, TOEFL exam has been modified to a new and simpler version than what used to be on the older versions. The new version of TOEFL has less questions and shorter time in various parts of the exam

General Format

Two-section adaptive test administered via two separately timed parts known as "Modules"

Number of Questions

1st Module:
22 questions.
(2 pre-test + 20 operational)

2nd Module:
22 questions.
(2 pre-test + 20 operational)

Total number of questions = 44 questions
