FAQ

Most frequent questions and answers

Generally, in Turkey students are required to take one of either exam: YOS or SAT. While YOS is only accepted in Turkey, SAT is accepted worldwide. Taking the SAT exam depends on many factors such as the level of English and math, medium of education and the intended university program. At Apostrophe Educational Center, we take all these factors into account so that we can advise you on the best course of action to secure a successful academic future.

Students discuss which book better provides the tools required to achieve the best results, however at Apostrophe Educational center, we found it best to consider all of the most used books for SAT such as Barron’s, Khan Academy and Panda.

The Math section of the SAT exam is considered to be surprisingly easy. It is generally around the same math level of Grade 10 of high school. Our teachers have taught students coming from different educational backgrounds and hence they start from the very basics of math to ensure that students are capable of coping. We focus on making the experience more hands on for students to find learning math more fun and overcome their fears.

Depending on your initial standard in English and mathematics, it generally takes 2 to 3 months to be prepared for the SAT examination. With the consistent and continuous support offered by our experienced teachers, students will be exam ready in the 3-month SAT test preparation offered.

Some institutions require or recommend SAT in addition to the other college admission tests. Some also use these for course placement once you’ve arrived on campus. Depending on your performance, you may potentially fulfill basic requirements or even receive credit for introductory-level courses. Along with other admission credentials (your high school record, teacher recommendation, etc.), SAT can help provide complete your academic portfolio and place you above the competition.

Although SAT tests are a combination of English and mathematics, we recommend that you achieve a sufficiently proficient level in English before you take on the SAT. At Apostrophe Educational Center, we offer our SAT students a chance to assess their readiness for the SAT through our free English language placement tests. We also have a range of English language courses that will prepare you to undertake the SAT course.
