What is SAT?

Before we talk about the SAT Course, let us get to know what the SAT exam is. The SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) or SAT 1, is a standardized test used for college admissions in the United States and all over the world. It is designed to examine a student’s readiness for higher education by testing their skills in reading, writing, and math. The exam is administered by the College Board and is generally taken by those who wish to apply to universities and high-ranked collages. The SAT is built as a multiple-choice question, and a time limit of about 2 hours and 14 minutes. The SAT is a driving factor that colleges and universities around the world consider when making admissions decisions.

SAT is going digital

Starting from March of 2023, SAT eaxm have shifted to a digita form, instead of paper-based version.  SAT exam will be tested digially using an application called “BlueBook“. Students are advised to install the application on their devices and practice on it. 

Digital SAT is composed of two sections: Reading and Writing and Math. Students have 64 minutes to complete the Reading and Writing section and 70 minutes to complete the Math section for a total of 2 hours and 14 minutes. Each section is divided into 2 equal length modules, and there is a 10-minute break between the Reading and Writing section and the Math section.

  The first module of each section contains a broad mix of easy, medium, and hard questions. Based on how students perform on the first module, the second module of questions will either be more difficult or less difficult

Is the SAT exam Hard?

The SAT is no different than any other satandrized exam that needs a proper prepration, in order to ensure receiving a high score. Therefore, the SAT will not be hard as long as students prepare for it properly, which what we do at Apostrophe Educational Center. How much does the SAT exam cost?

Depends on the contury in which the exam will take place at. The exam will cost between 70$ to 160$, the price is subject to regional fees, transferring and banking fees. Please also note that there might be additional fees applied such as, late registration or Modification of test date. What are the main sections in SAT?

There are TWO main sections in the Digital SAT exam, which are:

SAT MATH

The purpose of the SAT Math section is to evaluate students’ knowledge of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and data analysis, among other mathematical topics. Students showcase their problem-solving, quantitative reasoning, and data interpretation skills with a mix of multiple-choice and discrete questions.

The SAT Reading and Writing (English) section evaluates ability of comprehending and understanding information. Students review texts from a wide range of topics in the reading section, while they modify passages to make them more grammatically correct and understandable in the writing section. 

What is the SAT Exam Duration?

The complete exam duration is 2 hours and 24 minutes.

 1. Reading & Writing section will take 64 minutes.

2. There wil be 10 minutes break.

3. Math section will be 70 minutes.

How does the SAT Scoring works?

The total score on the SAT Digital exam is the sum of the scores received from the Reading & Writing section and the Math section. The total score is reported on a 400–1600 point scale, each section will be scored out of 800. Here is a breakdown of the scoring system works

When will the SAT exam scores be released?

The College Board usually makes the SAT exam scores available online 14 days following the date which the exam took place. Please keep in mind that scores may be released in 2 – 4 weeks time from exam date  After they are released, scores are sent to colleges in ten days if requestd by the student. 

How can the student view their exam results?

Students must log in to their account on the College Board official website in order to check their SAT exam results. To view their score reports after logging in, users should go to the “My SAT” page, then they must choose the particular test date for which they wish to access the results if they have taken the SAT more than once. Students can view their results online and download or print a PDF copy of their score report for external usage.

What is the SAT score required by universities?

Universities have different requirements for SAT scores based on the school, its policies, and their level of competition. High-tier universities often require SAT scores between 1200 and 1400, or higher, out of a possible 1600. It’s important to remember, though, that every university has unique requirements for SAT scores, and they might differ greatly from one school to another next. While some extremely competitive institutions may view scores closer to 1300 as competitive, others may have typical SAT scores considerably above 1500. Students must so thoroughly investigate the precise SAT score requirements of the colleges to which they wish to apply.  In conclusion scoring 1200 is considered as the minimum score for SAT at most universities around the world.

How can I prepare for SAT? When should I start?

What should my score be in the entry test?

You must score at least 60% on the admission exam in order to enroll in the SAT prepartoury course. This score shows that the student has a firm grasp of the material and is prepared to participate in the class effectively.
